Quantock School, surrounded by its own extensive gardens and grounds, is set in a superb position on the edge of the Quantock Hills, not far from the sea. Boys and girls are admitted from the age of six. The School provides education up to 'A' level which encourages personal success, close attention in small classes and good teacher relations.
Traditional teaching with emphasis on sound basics ensures greater achievement. Everyone is someone important at Quantock. A modern and sympathetic approach to child development produces happy and generally well behaved children.
Being a small school, we successfully promote a happy, caring, family atmosphere, so important to school life. Children quickly gain confidence here. We regard concern for others, together with mutual respect and friendship between the academic pupil and the more practical one, as important cornerstones. Quantock pupils are never lost in big class numbers or submerged in a crowd.
The aim of our school is to set the pupil on an exciting and challenging road - one that embraces physical, intellectual and moral development. We seek to provide a balance between academic, sporting and social success. We do this by encouraging individualism and enterprise, as well as by stretching those of all abilities at the pace to which they are most suited to fulfil their maximum potential.
The school is proud of its excellent facilities which include modern classrooms, science laboratories, a magnificent sports hall complex with an indoor heated swimming pool, a large engineering workshop and farm. A new theatre is currently under construction.
A wide range of sports are enjoyed and many varied extra-curricular activities are available. Day pupils are very welcome to extend their school day.
Quantock is about two hours from London by train to Taunton station, and is easily accessible from Wales via the Severn crossings, being less than one hour from Bristol. Exits 23 and 24 of the M5 motorway at Bridgwater and Taunton, are about 20 minutes distance.
